Asa, whose real name is Bukola Elemide, was born in September 1982 in Paris (France). His parents decided to return to Nigeria when she was a child. There she discovered a passion for music by becoming a student of music school opened by the English saxophonist Peter King. She developed her musical style between soul and pop with texts in English and Yoruba. In 2004, she sent a demo to the French Association of Artistic Action, which decided to support the young woman. Asa moved to France and gives a series of concerts that allow it to meet people decisive for the rest of his career. In 2006, she signed with a record company to record its eponymous debut album coming out next year.
